Mike Miller has served on the Flowery Branch City Council since January 1st, 2010. During his time on the council, he has served as Mayor Pro-Tem and Interim Mayor. There are several prominent pieces of legislation and decisions that have been passed or revised during his membership and under his leadership. Some of these include the appointment of a new solicitor, public defender and municipal court judge, the elimination of the F.O.G (Fats, Oils, and Grease) fees for businesses that do not have grease traps, a tiered water rate for citizens who are low-use consumers, the establishment of a home location for the community theater, and a reduction of the garbage bill. Additionally, the budget passed under Miller saw the first major increase in funding for capitol infrastructure improvements to city roads. These significant reductions of cost for services and community improvements were implemented while maintaining current tax rates.

A native of Columbus, Georgia, Mike Miller holds a B. A. in Music, Masters of Arts in Educational Administration and Supervision, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. He and his wife Diane both work as teachers in the public school system and have a three year old son, David. Miller also serves as an Assistant Golf Professional at the Winderemere Golf Club in Cumming, Ga.
